If you are reading this, you are supposed to be here. Washed ashore by the cosmic tides of cause and effect, countless unseen ripples in space-time have delivered you here to this page, to these words.
The Shrine of Insanity is devoted to promoting open-mindedness and creativity.
Reflecting my own interests in areas ranging from popular culture to ancient history, it is this constant juxtaposition of ideas, linked only by the tenuous cord of my psyche, through which the Shrine gains meaning.
It is difficult to describe exactly what you will find here, as the Shrine has come to mean different things to different people. Not only is it shaped by my own thoughts, but also by those of its members.
The site features a forum and a chat room in which the community are encouraged to share their opinions on virtually any topic you can imagine (and probably some that you can’t!).
To me, the Shrine is really about thinking differently; about opening our minds to the wealth of information and culture that is so readily available to us in this digital age… and shamelessly gorging ourselves on it.
Too often, it seems to me that people forget to think; or worse, they simply don’t bother. The Shrine is my attempt at preventing that, by making people realise how fantastic it is that we are even capable of “thinking” at all.
If you have read this far, I hope that you will take the time to sign-up and share your own particular breed of insanity with the rest of us. It is, and will remain, as much your Shrine as it is mine.
Stay insane.
