rihannamusicWhen a pop star releases an album entitled Rated R, you would be forgiven for thinking that it might contain themes of a sexually suggestive nature. In the case of Rihanna’s newest album, however, it seems far more likely that the title relates to violence.

On the record, the Barbadian bombshell makes reference to firearms more than ten times. She talks about how “gunfire left a hole” in Fire Bomb and repeats, over and over, that “we got our guns” in G4L. Once, in the song “Wait Your Turn”, she even says something about throwing a grenade.

Should we be afraid?
