Experts have dismissed a mysterious “halo-shaped” cloud that appeared above Moscow last week, claiming that the phenomena was caused by cold air from the Arctic combining with a number of other air fronts that have passed above Russia recently.
That rather mundane explanation hasn’t stopped the internet exploding with conspiracy theories from people that think the authorities have something to hide, while others are left wondering if it isn’t merely another viral marketing campaign by Microsoft.
The glowing ring of clouds was witnessed by millions as it appeared above Moscow’s western districts.
